Weekly Update (17/02/2022)

Over the past week, I didn't get enough time to do studio work, so for the time being I have been tidying up my blog.

Over on streaming, I have been digging into more of Kendrick Lamar's discography and had been listening to his unreleased J. Cole collaboration "Black Friday" - in the track, Lamar raps original lyrics over Cole's "A Tale Of 2 Citiez" beat and Cole raps original lyrics over Lamar's "Alright" beat. This has given me more inspiration for song lyrics - last night, I started thinking of a tense story to tell over the beat of "A Tale Of 2 Citiez" and will begin writing soon. Elsewhere, I have branched out of hip-hop and R&B, and have been listening to plenty of pop music, most of them by upcoming pop acts. Here are 9 pop songs that have been on rotation for me this past week:
  • London Is Lonely - Holly Humberstone
  • Fingers Crossed - Lauren Spencer-Smith
  • hope ur ok - Olivia Rodrigo
  • Sacrifice - The Weeknd
  • abcdefu - GAYLE
  • Head On Fire - Griff & Sigrid
  • love is just a word - Jasmine Thompson & Calum Scott
  • Where We Started - PRXZM
  • All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version) - Taylor Swift
Aside from the songs I have listed, I have also been listening to a lot of Paramore, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Sam Fender.
