B1: Marketing materials and design

 An EPK (electronic press kit) typically contains links to a band's music, band photos, album art, music videos, social media, and biography – this is needed to help the artist get recognised. Artists usually work with promoters on this.

I used Google Blogger to write my EPK because a lot of people use Google, it’s free, you can update it on the go, and people won’t be able to hack into it because of Google’s high security.

Marketing is a part of the process of promotion.

A survey can be used to investigate the characteristics, behaviours, or opinions of a group of people. Surveys can be used online (via social media, emails or websites), on paper, or via telephone. 

3 key points to take into consideration when identifying your target audience:

1.     Find out who your target audience is; this is also called a demographic

2.   Primary research – use a survey to identify your target audience

3.     Secondary research such as Hootsuite

5 key marketing tips:

1.     Advertise the product and introduce new music to fans

2.     Connect with fans through video streams, such as going live on YouTube or Twitch

3.     Grow your sales

4.     Target your appropriate audience

5.     Promote your product via media or online
